About LevelCalc
LevelCalc provides free, accurate construction calculators for professionals and DIY enthusiasts. Our tools help you estimate material quantities, plan projects, and reduce waste — saving you time and money on every job.
Our Mission
Every construction project starts with a calculation. Whether you're pouring a concrete slab, framing a wall, or sizing electrical wire, getting the math right the first time prevents costly overages and dangerous shortages. We built LevelCalc to make professional-grade estimating accessible to everyone.
How Our Calculators Work
Each calculator uses industry-standard formulas verified against authoritative sources including the International Residential Code (IRC), National Electrical Code (NEC), Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), and Brick Industry Association (BIA). Constants like bag yields, material densities, and coverage rates come directly from manufacturer specifications (Quikrete, Owens Corning, GAF, etc.).
All calculators include configurable waste factors because real-world projects always need more material than pure geometry suggests. Our defaults (typically 5-15%) reflect industry best practices for each material type.
Built for Accuracy
Every formula undergoes a multi-step quality assurance process:
- Mathematical verification against industry reference sources
- Hand-calculated output checks with default and edge-case inputs
- Cross-reference with manufacturer published yields and coverage rates
- Edge case testing to prevent nonsensical results
Our tools are designed for estimation purposes. For structural calculations (beams, joists, foundations), always verify results with a licensed engineer. For electrical work, consult a licensed electrician and your local building codes.
